Ritmo seamlessly blends multiple genres into a dynamic, unified performance. These various dance styles include but are not limited to P-Pop, Tinikling, and Kawayan. Today, Ritmo will be performing P-pop and Kawayan. P-Pop, short for “Pinoy Pop”, is hip hop choreography danced to OPM, Original Pilipino Music. Kawayan, developed by UC PASO alumni in 1997, is a hybrid dance form that incorporates the striking of thinner bamboo sticks inspired by Arnis, the national self-defense martial art of the Philippines.
